How to use NumericBoxControlLib.dll

Oct 5, 2010 at 7:19 AM

Hi,

I have downloaded the dll but when I try to refer it in a project, the reference is not added. It shows in th references but with an error sign. Am I missing something here?

I would really appreciate if you can guide me through how to use this control?

Thanks

Hi,

first you have to add a reference to the dll in the solution navigator, and after that you have to add following line:

<Window x:Class="Test.MainWindow"
        xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
        xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
	xmlns:nb="clr-namespace:NumericBoxControlLib;assembly=NumericBoxControlLib"
        Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525">

The key line is 'xmlns:nb="clr-namespace:NumericBoxControlLib;assembly=NumericBoxControlLib"'. (You can change the 'nb' to anything you want.)

Afterwards you can access the control by typing <nb:NumericBox />.

Here's a more detailed article on the case: http://www.infosysblogs.com/microsoft/2007/03/using_user_controls_in_windows.html

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Actually I was using VS 2008 and I noticed later that the DLL supports VS 2010 or .Net FW 4.0, that's why I was unable to use it.

Thanks
